Anna Sugden is an award-winning British author of contemporary romance, particularly sports romance centered on professional ice hockey. She lives in Cambridge, England, with her husband and has previously worked in two other careers:

Global marketing executive for a multinational consumer products company.
Primary school teacher.

Her writing career began while living in New Jersey, USA, after her husband’s job relocation. Unable to obtain a work permit because of post-9/11 immigration restrictions, she devoted herself to writing romance fiction. She studied through the Gotham Writers’ Workshop, became involved with Romance Writers of America, and sold her first novel, A Perfect Distraction, to Harlequin SuperRomance in 2012 (published in 2013).
