Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (22 May 1859 – 7 July 1930) was a Scottish physician, novelist, playwright, historian, war correspondent, and one of the world’s most influential writers of detective fiction. He is best known as the creator of Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. John Watson.
