Pseudonym: Francis Bonnamy. She intentionally used the masculine spelling “Francis” (rather than “Frances”) because publishers believed male mystery writers sold better.

Spouse: Jay Walz, journalist for The New York Times. They collaborated on historical novels.

Lived for a time in Alexandria, Virginia.
Participated in local historical and civic projects, including the 1956 “Our Town” exhibit at Gadsby’s Tavern with Dorothy Keller.
